Frieda Echterhoff was born on 6th June 2006 in Bochum. She began her athletics journey as a child. Through the general fundamentals of athletics training, she progressed to discus throwing. In her youth, she already celebrated significant successes, winning several medals at the German Youth Championships and participating twice in the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF). In 2022, she won the gold medal there, and in 2023, she secured the silver medal.
