At the Culture Kiosk run by the Regional Association Ruhr (RVR), visitors of all ages have the chance to spin the wheel of fortune and win a pick’n’mix sweet bag, an ice lolly, or other small surprises. Additional giveaways provide information about the many individual cultural projects supported by the RVR and highlight its role as a shaper of the Ruhr region. Colourful deckchairs and lounge tables designed by young local artists complete the vibrant atmosphere around the Culture Kiosk.

The Robert Enke Foundation was established in 2010 to honour the memory of former national goalkeeper Robert Enke and to raise greater societal awareness of depression. Movement brings change, and sport unites nations. The platform move4sustainability addresses pressing questions around sustainable sport and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in sport and physical education. move4sustainability is an initiative from Austria that has been working since 2019 on sustainable sport and ESD in sports and PE. Movement brings change — and sport connects people across borders. move4sustainability focuses on key questions of sustainable development in the context of sport and supports multipliers and organizations from education and sport in building competencies and approaching sustainability in a structured way. The goal is to initiate sustainable change in and through sport and to effectively implement ESD.

Conference of Rectors of Universities in North Rhine-Westphalia
The Conference of Rectors brings together the 14 public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia, the private University Witten/Herdecke, and the German Police University in Münster. Its aim is to jointly promote, further strengthen, and actively shape North Rhine-Westphalia as a leading centre for higher education, science, and research – engaging in dialogue with society, politics, and industry.
Humboldtⁿ – The Sustainability Initiative of Universities in North Rhine-Westphalia
In 2021, the 16 universities of North Rhine-Westphalia joined forces with the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, and Energy to establish the Humboldtⁿ initiative, aimed at actively promoting sustainability within higher education institutions. Humboldtⁿ serves as a multiplier and intermediary, coordinating shared research interests among universities, the Wuppertal Institute, and the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts. It consolidates expertise in sustainability research.

The German Research Centre for Elite Sport Cologne (momentum) stands for "Research, Performance, and Sport" in adult and youth elite sports. In addition to supporting top athletes, it also conducts research activities related to space missions, clinical questions, older adults, as well as children and adolescents. Both the scientific and practical aims are to improve understanding of stress stimuli and the resulting responses at various levels (organ systems, organs, cells, molecules).

The ASB (Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund) has existed in Germany since 1888, making it one of the country’s oldest aid and welfare organisations. More than 1.3 million people nationwide support its non-profit work through their membership. Since its founding in 1913, ASB Bochum has been providing services tailored to the needs of the community – ranging from emergency medical services and disaster relief to personal emergency response systems and cold weather assistance. A special initiative is the Teddy Bear Hospital, where children learn in a playful way how to treat small wounds with plasters and apply bandages. They can bring their own cuddly toys or use one of our "Dr Teddy Bear" plush animals to experience how first aid works in a child-friendly setting – all guided by our trained first aid instructors and volunteers.

Together for a waste-free future! Zero Waste Köln is committed to waste reduction and the responsible use of resources through hands-on activities, educational initiatives, campaigns, and political advocacy. As a local association and part of the nationwide Zero Waste network in Germany, the organisation is the perfect point of contact for anyone wishing to actively support these goals. At their stand, you can examine a soil sample from the forest for microplastics. You’ll learn how microplastics enter our environment and what we can do together to prevent them. You can also explore the exciting Zero Waste Trail covering topics like climate, food, and fashion – and join in the community clean-up around the park near the Jahrhunderthalle. Let’s work together to keep our environment clean!
